Adding and Importing Budget Data
By default, G/L budget records contain no budget data. You can add budget data manually or by importing from a spreadsheet.
To manually add or edit budget data

You can add or edit data from a budget in the Report Style of Budget or Reforecast. Account numbers in the Variance report style are not links.

Complete the Budget column in one of the following ways:

Type an amount in the Distribute field and click Distribute. The drop-down list next to the button determines how the amount is distributed. For example, if the amount is $12,505:
Decimals puts $1,042.08 in the first 11 months and $1,042.12 in December.
Whole numbers puts $1,042 in the first 11 months and $1,043 in December.
Thousands puts $1,000 in the first 11 months and $1,505 in December.
Evenly puts $12,505 in every month.

If there are amounts in the Budget column already, you can increase them by a percentage by entering an amount in the Increase field and clicking Increase. For example, if the amount is $1,000 and you enter 5, the new amount will be $1,050.

Click Save.

Click Display on the G/L Budget screen to view the updated budget.
To import budget data from an Excel spreadsheet

Column A Add G/L account numbers.
The number format must match the G/L account number format specified on the Essential Accts tab of the Accounts and Options screen. For example, if if the Voyager format is ????-????, account numbers must look like 1000-1100 rather than 10001100.
Column B Leave empty.
Columns C--N Enter budget data for regular accounts for each of the twelve months, with January in Column C, February in Column D, and so on.
You can include decimals and comma separators as shown in the graphic above, but they are not required.

In Voyager, click Paste. Voyager copies the data to the matching account numbers in the target G/L budget.

On the G/L Budget screen, verify that imported data appears as expected. If it does not, reimport the data until you get the desired results.
