This section describes how to import trial balances and G/L budgets into Voyager property-management databases. You can import trial balances as journal entries by using a method that is similar to importing regular transactions. You can import data from CSV-format or fixed-length ASCII- text files. Many current property-management and financial applications have the capability to export transaction-data files in these formats.

You can import a trial balance for a single period, or load multiple sequential periods in a single operation. (For example, you can import twelve months of account balances at one time.) The balances can be either month-to-date or year-to-date figures. Each line of a trial balance or budget import file can contain property information, so you can include multiple properties in one import file.
