Voyager Plug-in Descriptions

This document contains general descriptions of Voyager plug-ins and how they update, enhance, and affect their associated modules or systems. For technical details about a specific plug-in (for example, Commercial Plug-in 10) see the release notes for that plug-in.

Some plug-ins are not directly associated with modules, but to the Voyager Core system in general. For these plug-ins, more detailed descriptions are provided.

Plug-in Name	Description
Admin Utilities	This plug-in contains enhancements to existing Voyager System Administration utilities, including Enhanced Security, new Voyager menu-editor and data-permissions screens, comprehensive system information (“About”) table, security and audit analytics reports, FillDocs, Tablewriter, deposit receipt, and the SysSecurity Web service. This Web service enables administrators to change passwords, inactivate users, change user's security group, and set data permissions. Also included are troubleshooting utilities: enhanced bank reconciliation reports, GPR reconciliation, ASP page to fix prepay exceptions, and system performance analytics.
Budget and Forecasting	The Budget and Forecasting module automates the process of creating a G/L budget and provides advanced forecasting features. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Affordable Housing	The Affordable Housing module is designed for managing properties that operate under HUD project-based programs, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Rural Development Section 515, and HOME Funds. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Canada	The Canadian Residential Regional module contains features that manage Canadian rules and regulations in regards to residential housing. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Canada Social Housing	The Canadian Social Housing module works with Voyager Residential to integrate Canadian compliance, accounting, and property management. This module helps to ensure compliance for all social housing programs in Canada, including RGI and Rent Supplement. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Commercial	The Commercial System is designed to manage commercial properties -- office parks, retail malls, and industrial buildings. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Concierge	This plug-in contains a set of features for managing concierge services at residential properties. Using Voyager Concierge, you can track deliveries to residents, drop-offs and pick-ups by residents, registration of guests and service personnel, check out of keys, and incident reporting at the property. All concierge service workflows can be accessed from a Concierge Dashboard.
Condo	The Condo, Co-op and HOA module is used to manage condominiums, co-ops and homeowner associations. It can also be used in conjunction with Voyager Residential to manage individual condo units as rentals. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Correspondence Management	Correspondence Management is similar to a Microsoft Word mail merge. A template is used to create a series of letters or invoices. These letters can extract specific custom information from Voyager property-management databases.
Cash Management	Cash management includes electronic-banking processes for all of Yardi's vertical product lines, both domestic and international. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)	Electronic Funds Transfer is a paper-free process that enables online financial transactions, (for both receivables and payables) between the property management company, the bank, and the Yardi Voyager system. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Executive Dashboard	The Executive Dashboard feature provides a framework to display on one screen all the information needed to review and analyze property and investment-management data. Custom-configured dashboard layouts can include standard and custom reports, charts, graphs, data records, KPI/performance, and static content such as Web sites. System administrators can design the layouts to correspond to the roles and responsibilities in your organization, to provide quick access to the most essential business intelligence information for executives and other decision makers. This plug-in applies permissions-based security to the availability and execution of Executive Dashboards by users in security groups. It also adds built-in dashboard packages for the residential market, to supplement the existing commercial dashboards already provided.
Extract Transform Load (ETL)	The Yardi Voyager ETL plug-in performs extraction, transformation, and load operations that provide data imports and exports between Yardi databases and foreign databases from non-Yardi property-management systems.
Financial Analytics	This plug-in contains updates to Voyager analytics reports, including Financial, Payables, A/R (Commercial and International), Transaction Register, General Ledger, and Financial Packets.
GL Allocation	With GL Allocations, you can assign or appropriate income and expenses from a source property (or entity) to multiple target properties (or entities). Voyager automatically creates a journal entry for each transaction involved.
GL Posting Utilities	The GL Posting Utility contains enhancements to the following features: Postdated Checks, Deposit Interest, Concierge (door-person functionality for security buildings), Utility Billing, and Quick Refund.
Interfaces	With this plug-in, third-party entities can access the Yardi Voyager Web Service Interface to perform services such as: Applicant Screening (Credit Check), Billing & Payment, Vendor Invoicing, Revenue Management, Interface Guest Card, and Collections.
International	With Yardi Voyager International, you can manage multinational properties and investments. The product includes currency conversion and international style taxation (for example, VAT). Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Investment Accounting Preferred Returns	The Preferred Returns portion of Investment Management enables you to calculate preferred returns, waterfalls, and promotes for your entities.
Investment Management	With Yardi Investment Management, you can report on financial information from one entity to another, across complex deal structures. You can use Investment Management with Yardi Voyager, as well as to manage data from other property-management systems. This module also includes Investor Reporting, which enables fund managers to provide details to investors about how their investments are performing over a given period. This includes various reports that display prorated investment values, unfunded equity amounts, and time-adjusted internal rates of return (IRRs).
Investment Management Performance	With Yardi Performance, you can use standard performance tables to warehouse and track performance data for the entities and properties in your portfolio. You can also track key performance indicator (KPI) data and generate performance reports. Additionally, you can measure the performance of real estate investments using NCREIF and AIMR/GIPS accounting standards, including generating the associated reports and creating files for submission to NCREIF.
Job Cost	With Yardi Voyager Construction Management and Job Costing, you can track all types of construction projects throughout all phases. Projects can include commercial, office, industrial, residential, and mixed-use developments. You can track budgets, job-budget revisions, job bids, expenses, funding sources, draws on construction loans, subcontracts, contract and purchase-order commitments, and retention.
Maintenance	Both commercial and residential property management companies use this module to create and manage purchase requests, purchase orders, work orders, and asset records. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Mortgage	This plug-in contains features for tracking mortgage payments.
New York	The New York Module assists residential and commercial property owners, managers, and landlords in New York City to fulfill the special tracking and reporting requirements of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR). Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Ontario Coordinated Access	Coordinated Access is a centralized waiting-list system for people applying for geared-to-income housing in the Province of Ontario. The Coordinated Access system enables applicants to apply to many different municipalities using one application process. (This plug-in is not used by individual clients, but only deployed on a centralized database that is hosted by Yardi.)
Portal	With the Yardi Portal Content Management System (Portal CMS), you can create and maintain property Web site pages using a WYSIWIG interface. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Public Housing	The Voyager PHA system is designed for public housing agencies and other organizations that manage subsidized housing under the tenant-based Section 8 and public housing programs. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Residential	With Voyager Residential, you can manage all residential-property tasks, including leasing, accounting, and maintenance. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Reporting Tools	With this plug-in, you can create custom financial analytic report templates that enable you to access and review your organization's data for key performance indicators (KPI).
Senior Housing	With Voyager Senior Housing, you can manage care-giving operations and financial accounting for senior-housing communities. Plug-ins update and enhance this module.
Service Manager	Yardi Service Manager is a Windows .NET Service that includes the Task Runner and Report Runner services. The Voyager Service Manager plug-in adds Voyager setup, configuration, operation, and monitoring functions for these tools, as follows: Task Runner enables users to set up, schedule, automate, and run application tasks, stored procedures, and custom tasks with multiple steps. Report Runner enables users to schedule, process, generate, and distribute reports, either individually or in batches.
