Yardi Energy Solutions Overview
Yardi Energy Solutions allocates utility charges to your residents and creates unposted utility charge batches, which you can review and post from your database. Yardi Energy Solutions allocates these charges by one of three methods:
c
Ratio Utility Billing Systems (RUBS)  The charge amount for each resident is based on one or more of the following factors:
Z
Z
Z
Each utility can be based on different factors. For example, water charges can be based on number of occupants, while gas charges can be based on square footage. In all situations, Yardi Energy Solutions uses the ratio between the unit's value and the property's total value to allocate the appropriate amount to each resident. Yardi Energy Solutions does not measure actual utility usage.
c
Submetering The charge amount for each resident is based on the submeter usage for the resident's unit. Once physically installed, the submeter automatically sends a daily reading to Yardi Energy Solutions. At the end of a billing period, Yardi Energy Solutions compiles the accumulated readings in order to calculate the appropriate amount for the resident. Charge amounts may vary significantly from month to month.
c
Baseline Allowance The charge amount for residents is based on an established average utility usage across a group of units. Yardi Energy Solutions charges residents who use more than the group average and credits residents who use less than the group average.
Your property may use a variation on one of these three methods, which may produce different results for reports and calculations than those described in this documentation. Your Yardi Energy Solutions specialist will assist you with implementing an appropriate method and set up your Voyager database for utility billing, based on your specifications. Depending on your property's location and regulations, some restrictions may apply. For more information, contact YES Energy Management technical support.
