IRS Form 1099 Procedures : 1099 and 1096 Forms

1099 and 1096 Forms
1099 forms are used to submit tax data to the IRS, vendors, owners, and tenants.
Voyager generates 1099-MISC and 1099-INT forms that meet the latest IRS requirements. See “IRS Form 1099” for information about what a 1099 is and how Voyager populates the fields of a 1099. For information about ordering 1099 forms, see Appendix B, “1099 and 1096 Forms.”
1096 forms are cover sheets you submit with paper 1099 forms. You need one 1096 for each batch of paper forms you submit. You don't need a 1096 form if you file electronically. For 1099-INT forms, you must manually complete the 1096 cover sheet.
In Voyager, 1099 and 1096 forms are reports. This section describes how to generate them. For general information about generating reports, see “Reports” in the Voyager Core User's Guide.
