Interim Recertifications Overview
An Interim recertification (IR) documents changes in household size or circumstances.

LIHTC requires a recertification when a new family member is added to the household. For more information about tenant income certifications for changes in family size, see the Guide for Completing Form 8823 Low-Income Housing Credit Agencies Report of Noncompliance or Building Disposition, Chapter 4.
HUD project-based and LIHTC interim recertifications do not affect an annual recertification date.
You may want to use an interim recertification to record a new tenant-based subsidy for a HOME or LIHTC household. Voyager automatically updates the resident's lease charges for changes in rent and subsidy. Using an interim recertification is a convenient way to perform this task.
