HUD Project-Based Voucher Detail Record Reversals Overview
When you discover that you need to reverse one or more individual charges or adjustments in a resident's HAP voucher, you can reverse those transactions so that you can make the needed corrections to the resident's records and then re-post the resident's charges to include in another voucher.
You can reverse transactions only in a resident's most recent voucher. If a voucher exists that is more recent than the voucher containing the transactions that you need to reverse, you must reverse the more recent voucher first.
When you reverse transactions in a resident's voucher, Voyager does not change the HAP voucher date on the affected 50059 certification summary record. To be able to change the date on the certification summary record, you must reverse the resident's entire voucher. For information about reversing a resident's voucher, see “HUD Project-Based Voucher Reversals”.
Reversing a transaction a resident's voucher does not automatically reverse that charge or adjustment on the resident's ledger or the general ledger of the property. You will need to manually reverse the transaction after reversing the transaction in the voucher. For information about voucher reversal accounting corrections, see “Voucher Reversal Accounting Corrections Overview”.
